Today was a great day for the modernization of the church! Pastor Charles accompanied Bobbie and Bill Lester to Midland to purchase a new computer and phone system for the church. Praise be to God for an exciting day!!!

FATHERS' DAY POTLUCK LUNCHEON

Sunday, June 6th in McCamey
With dawn this morning came the promise of another hot, humid day here in west Texas. The faithful who gathered at the First UMC and at the McCamey Convalescent Center came to be "fired up" with God's love and there was no shortage of warmth of love to make it happen!

McCamey Garden Club's Flower Show postponed
Due to the recent heat wave and damaging winds, the McCamey Garden Club flower show scheduled for this coming Sunday (June 6) in the FUMC - McCamey fellowship hall has been postponed.

Worship at the Crane Nursing & Rehab Center
Pastor Charles led a worship service this morning at the Crane Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, filling in for Rev. Blaine Wimberly (First UMC - Crane).
Rev. Wimberly is attending her Annual Conference session in Albuquerque, New Mexico, this week, and Pastor Charles stepped in to assist. He shared scripture lessons from the Second Sunday after Pentecost and offered Holy Communion to the twenty residents in attendance.

The Choir is Taking Its Summer Break from Weekly Choir Practice
The choir met tonight for its final rehearsal for awhile. Taking part in tonight's musical gathering were Belinda Alkula, Sarah & Eric Hill, Bobbie Lester and Jean Myrick. (Plans are to begin again August 4th.)
Louise Carll and Cytha Peters were presented with rose plants in appreciation of their leadership in the church's music ministry program.
