Farewell to Cleatus Brooks

Cleatus Harold Brooks, 92, of McCamey, passed away on Friday April 8, 2011, in McCamey.  Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at the Resthaven Cemetery in McCamey with Rev. Dr. Charles Alkula officiating.

Cleatus was born to Delma Kay and Lee Brooks on August 30, 1918. Cleatus married Mary B. McNamara on October 15, 1945. He had one son Michael Francis Brooks.

Cleatus is survived by several nephews and nieces.  He was preceded in death by his father, mother, wife, son, four brothers and one sister.

Cleatus was past Mayor of McCamey and served in several committees and served faithfully in his church.  He served his country during WWII and was honorable discharged July 8, 1945 from the US Army. He received the Bronze Star while serving in Sicily. His kindness and generosity throughout his life are a testament to what a wonderful son, husband, father and friend he was to all.

The family would like to thank the McCamey Convalescent Center staff and the volunteers that dedicate their time and talents to make all residents of the center feel loved and comfort when family cannot be there.  Special Thanks to the Lester family for all you have done.
