Our Advent journey reached its third Sunday this morning in McCamey, and a blessing it was for everyone who turned out on a chilly December morning. Jack and Peggy Garner led the community in lighting the Advent wreath, and the choir made our worship experience very special by singing the lovely Advent hymn, "People Look East."
In the afternoon, Cytha Peters, Bill & Bobbie Lester and Belinda Alkula were joined by Belinda's mother, Sheila Hammitt, at the McCamey Convalescent Center. It is a blessing for us to be able to sing the favorite hymns of the season with these special people.
The First UMC in McCamey is very much a part of the life of the MCC community life. We share worship on Sunday afternoons, followed by sharing fellowship time on Thursday mornings beginning at 10:00 a.m.
