Staying warm with the love of God!

This has been a rather frigid week here in west Texas weather-wise, but the love of God has kept us warm and on the move!

On Thursday morning, the residents of the McCamey Convalescent Center gathered for the weekly sharing of coffee & donuts with community volunteers.  Pastor Charles braved the cold (it was 10 degrees F. when he left the parsonage!) and enjoyed sharing the love of God with these wonderful folks.

This morning, the United Methodist Men gathered in the fellowship hall for their first meeting of 2011.  It was decided to have as their monthly group devotional a study presented by Pastor Charles.  We'll be using "Bad Boys of the Bible" as our resource.  This book presents the stories of 14 well-known men of the Bible, who are strong and weak, faithful and challenged. Cain, Abraham, Moses, Samson, Saul, David, Judas and Pontius Pilate are some of the men we'll be talking about in the weeks to come.

Jim Witcher provided the wonderful ham & egg biscuits and some of his home-made jelly for the hungry group.  Attending this morning were Pastor Charles, Roy Kephart, Jay McWilliams, Glen Smart, Donny Wiley and Jim Witcher.
