April begins @ FUMC - McCamey
What a busy start to our month we've had! A peek at the seven entries already for April on this blog show that we're off on a fast, and joy-filled adventure!
Our worship service this morning included a wonderful selection by our choir and Coy's able assistants Abby and Ashley who helped with ushering duties. The congregation also participated in a worship litany based upon The United Methodist Social Creed.
Following worship, the congregation was invited to share a "potato potluck" in the fellowship hall. It was so much fun: Lots of sharing and lots of good eats!
The convalescent center service was a great opportunity to continue today's theme from Psalm 23, "goodness & mercy." The singing, the sharing of communion, and being with these good souls is such a blessing. Thanks to Roy & Alice Kephart, Belinda Alkula, Bobbie Lester, Grace Moody and Cytha Peters for sharing this time with the residents.
To cap off the day, the fourth installment of "UMC 101" took place this evening. The topic today was The UMC Social Principles, ¶160 - ¶166 in the 2008 Book of Discipline.
Thanks be to God for the day that was today!
